About Us
Little Chefs, Big Change is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that teaches fun, hands-on cooking classes where kids build confidence, explore new foods, and make meals using affordable, healthy ingredients. We believe in the power of kids to steer their family’s food choices and that kids can cook, choose healthy options, and enjoy a wide-variety of foods if they have early exposure. We value each person’s identity and deliver programming that is inclusive of all families, diets, and budgets. We celebrate dietary differences, offer culturally diverse recipes, and do not stigmatize any family’s food practices. We acknowledge the health disparities felt by low-income and people of color and prioritize equity in our work.
We deliver programming at Title 1 schools and community centers across Knoxville, including Wesley House Community Center, Shora Foundation, Pond Gap Elementary, Dogwood Elementary, Mount Olive Elementary, South Doyle Middle, Christenberry Community Center, E.V. Davidson Community Center, the Community Law Office, and BLOC Knox. We also teach summer classes in Campbell County and are currently expanding our programs there into the school year.
